17 Weeks 5 Days

17 Weeks 5 Days

This pregnancy has been a lot different than my pregnancy with Blueberry.  Being pregnant with her was a breeze.  I was never sick.  I did not have a lot of aches and pains.  It was smooth sailing until the last month or two.

This time around has been completely different.  Either I am having a boy or it is due to the fact that I am 11 years older this time around!  For the first three months I felt sick pretty much all day every day.  I never actually threw up (unless I had a migraine, that coming shortly) but I always felt right on the edge.  It was not fun.

I also had a few really, really bad migraine headaches.  I have had them on and off since I was probably 10 years old, however, I do not recall headaches as bad as the ones I have gotten while pregnant this time around.  They were horrible.  I literally thought I was going to die.  I would throw up violently, multiple times.  I could not sleep.  I could not move.  It hurt to breathe!  The doctor did call in a prescription of some extra, extra strength Tylenol for me but I only ever took one pill.  It did not pay to take them as I would just throw them up within five minutes of ingesting them anyway.  I have found that if I take a Tylenol and drink some form of caffeinated soda I can ward the headaches off pretty good now.

Toward the end of my pregnancy with Blueberry my hands and feet my whole body was extremely swollen.  I retained water like a grape.  It is already happening this time around.  I can no longer wear my wedding ring.  My hands are very swollen and painful when I wake up every morning and my feet get really swollen as well.

All in all, it is a lot different this time around.  One positive this time is that as of my last doctor appointment, I had only gained five pounds.  Five pounds in three months is not bad considering I gained a total of 50 pounds with Blueberry.  I am trying to be a lot more careful this time.  I go to the doctor this Friday so we'll see what the verdict is on that, especially since we just came off of the holidays of gluttony!

There are a lot of really great things about this pregnancy as well, it is not all bad and I will share the list of the greats next time!

Well I'm glad to hear that you finally know how I felt all last year :) lol. You look beautiful! I suggest you get a pair of TEDS stockings from Rexall. THey will make your feet and cankles more normal and not as swollen. It helps so much!
