New York - Day 4

Our hotel was right down in Times Square.  We were very close to a lot of the action.  A couple of mornings, while I was getting ready for the day, Hubs walked down to the ABC studios to see if he could catch them filming Good Morning America.  Sure enough he did.

Anyway, day four started out like the ones before.  Corner deli for breakfast.  Bus to our destination... Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.  We decided not to get off the boat at Liberty Island as the statue was closed for repairs anyway.  Riding the boat around her was pretty awesome though.

Ellis Island was very cool too.  It was pretty amazing to be in the place where so many came with hopes and dreams for a brighter future.

The main receiving room.  This was the first room the immigrants would have been ushered into.  Back in the day there were benches lined up on either side.
An original podium that the officials used to call the immigrants by name to the next part of their journey.

We spent quite a bit of time on the island.  I could have stayed longer but Hubs and Blueberry were getting impatient.  We took the boat back to shore and caught our bus again to find some grub at Katz's Deli.  Along the bus rout we saw the Zarin Fabric store.
These are for you, Cara!

Next stop... Katz's Deli for dinner.  Katz's is the home of the famous scene in the movie When Harry Met Sally.

The sign says "Where Harry met Sally... Hope you have what she had"

To be continued...
