Today was Blueberry's first day of school. Yesterday was orientation and on the way home she said to me "Mom, I've waited my WHOLE LIFE for first grade". To say she was excited for school is an understatement. This morning she was up before her alarm clock, dressed and ready to go about 15 minutes before she had to be. Her day was "SO FUN"! She was excited that a good friend from last year is in her class again and she made a few new friends today to boot. She was disappointed that they didn't do any reading today and she didn't get to bring a book home to read to me but I'm sure she won't have to wait long for that. It was a good day, but have no fear, I am not deluded enough to think that the excitement of first grade won't wear off in the next couple of weeks. I am well aware there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in the very near future. Until then, however, I will enjoy the excitement these first few days bring. After all, they have come with a whole life of anticipation.

What a beautiful little family you and your daughter have! She is absolutely precious! And how cute is it that she has been"waiting her whole life!" to go to first grade. I love it!
