We had new gutters put on our house the other day. This post is not about the gutters, although they do look nice and will, hopefully, work a lot better than the old gutters did. No, this post is about an embarrassing moment.
The gutter guys showed up at 7:50 am. I answered the door, went over a couple of things, they went about removing the old gutters while I went back to getting ready for work. My bedroom has patio doors leading out to the deck. I had the doors open because it was really nice outside that morning and I was loving the crisp morning air. When the patio doors are open there is a crystal clear view of my bedroom and my bathroom sink area.
As I was brushing my teeth I remembered a stray chin hair I had wanted to take care of (shut up. It happens to some of us, okay?). I finished up the cleaning of the teeth and proceeded to pluck, just as one of the gutter guys stood in front of my bedroom door to take down the gutters on that side of the house. I sort of froze mid-pluck, not sure what to do. Pretend I was plucking an eyebrow? Pretend the tweezers were a toothbrush? I fnished up in a hurry and on the way to daycare was telling Blueberry about my mishap. Very seriously she said "well mom, a girl has to do what a girl has to do to look good for the day".
True enough. Although I'm not sure the gutter guys needed to know that was part of the routine!
